Confirmation

Sunday, April 20, 2008!! Of the many different things that go to ensuring the church's future and cementing its legacy to the past, nothing is more important than a good, sound education in Christianity and, in our case, Lutheranism. With this in mind, we are continuing to evolve our Confirmation Program. This year will mark the beginning of a new chapter in the life of our church in many ways. One of these is the new Confirmation Program. Created not long ago by Augsburg-Fortress Press, "Here We Stand" is a dynamic and interactive program covering all aspects of Lutheranism, Christianity, and the Bible. Interested readers can view this program and even try it out! Augsburg-Fortress has provided a link on its website. We feel that a solid background education in things church-related is a terrific foundation for life.

Who, What, When, Where?

The Confirmation Program will begin its 2008 season on Wednesday evening September 10^th at 7:00 PM. It will be held at the church and taught by the pastor and lay-volunteers who will serve as Confirmation Mentors. The course material will be taught in both classroom at church and at home via the Internet. As you check out the program at the above link to Augsburg-Fortress, you are sure to see that this program will offer our confirmands a program in which they will learn those subjects necessary to form the foundation of the rest of their Christian lives along with being able to do this in an interesting and fun way!

Logistics

Often times in our area of the state, distances to and from places we need to go are such that walking or biking are impractical. Minnesota's sometimes adventuresome weather can be a challenge as well. We are trying to enlist the aid of volunteers that are willing to provide transportation to confirmation students. Please, if transportation to and from church is an issue for your youngsters, call the church office (651-674-4606) and speak with the secretary or leave a message for the Confirmation Coordinator.
